Very Bad Service! I strongly suggest all F1 students staying away from this company. First of all, phone number is unreachable. I tried calling customer service phone number 812-360-2313 for more than 10 times, at normal working hour 7 am – 7 pm CST, but no one pickup. By end of the day, I received random incoming calls that are not listed on their website, said they are calling back from SM. Who knows if it is scammed or not? This is very unprofessional! Second, before I purchased the plan, I sent my school’s waiver requirements to SM via email, asked them to confirm if their plans “fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act and meets Massachusetts State Requirements”? They said both Prime and Elite meets these requirements. They also promised that as long as the plan is not effective, they will issue refund if my school doesn’t accept it. They convinced me to purchase their plan. However, I ended up receiving waiver denial because plan benefit doesn’t meet criteria. Basically, they just encourage you to purchase insurance regardless of the fact that their plans do not qualify for your school waiver requirement at all! Third, I reached out to them to request for refund before my plan start. And they replied: “Here is the link that you can submit your waiver. Thank you for choosing Student Medicover.” Excuse me? My waiver got denied already, why I need to know the link to submit waiver??? Can you please solve the problem and issue refund. After that, they never reply my email to address my cancellation request. Student Medicover doesn’t care if the product is really a good fit for school requirement or not. They just want to sell insurance and not take responsibility. I cannot imagine if you are getting treatment, will they really pay your medical bill?
